How Are You All Doing?

McDuff and Captain Jack

Generally my posts, if they’re not about things of general  or quirky interest, are devoted to telling the world what I’m up to. (Not sure the world cares, but nevertheless…)  But the longer this accursed pandemic goes on, and the political surrealism and all the rest of the anxiety about the world, the more I wonder: How are all of you doing?

I’m not a big Facebook participant or I’d probably already know. I don’t tweet or retweet or read tweets, and I don’t light tinders, nor do I gram anything in an instant. I used to like tumbling, but that was when I was young; tumblering now usually means I’ve taken a fall while rollerblading, and am grateful for all the pads I strap on.

Long way of saying, I don’t keep up much with social media, but I do wonder how all my friends and family are. HOW ARE YOU? Please leave a note and let me know!

Hi Jeff! I just nursed Billycat through a bout of pancreatitis. 30 days with a feeding tube but he recovered! Back in April he was diagnosed with kidney disease but extra fluids and special food got him on a good track. Hopefully he will stay well. Oh you didn’t ask how is my cat? I’m working on old writings and listening to the HGTTG to help maintain sanity. Adams was brilliant! Bestest, Fran

Good for Billycat — and you! May you both stay well! And yes, to Adams.

    Hi Jeff!
Hanging on by a thread, as long as people don’t needle me too much.

Here’s a visualization of my life as seen through a camera:

Lilian and I are ready to travel (to just about anywhere) just as soon as this pandemic is less of a threat. [Mid-2020’s?]

    Stay well. Stay safe.

    Damn, I miss the North-East!

    Best regards,
    David

At the start of March, Neil sent me with the dogs to StarField farm. We weren’t sure how long it would be until we were together again, given his work with covid patients at Tufts.

Thankfully, Tufts went all in early with PPE and Neil’s been able to escape to the farm most weekends and now I’m coming back home for a few days midweek.

My creativity has been mostly in making bread, canning preserves, and making ceramics.

Glad you’re all safe! I guess there are worse places to wait out a pandemic than Starfield Farm! 🙂

Hi Jeff. Doing well working from home here in upstate NY since March. This has made my 10 year old dog VInny very happy. I too am anxiously awaiting the last book of the chronicles, though it will also be sad that it is the last one. But I guess all good things must come to an end sometime. Wishing you and your family the best.

I’m also doing fine out here in Arizona but this is is the hottest summer on record in the Phoenix area. Just lost $20 to my daughter for hitting 50 – 110 degree or above days. Smashing the record of 33. When I made the bet at the beginning of August, I was just joking about it and then we hit it. Also waiting for the next book!

Hi Jeff, discovered your site via C.J Cherryh’s blog. Things are ok in London, UK. I’m getting married on Friday and my son turned one on 20th August. Oh, and I’m moving to LA ok in October.
